Last October, reality star Jep Robertson was hospitalized during a hunting trip after he suffered a near-fatal seizure.
“I thought I was a goner,” the Duck Dynasty cast member said of the ordeal at the time.
After spending days in the hospital, where he was placed on a ventilator, he was ultimately released and recalled the experience in a subsequent Fox News Channel interview. He explained that during his illness, he did not recognize his own family members and thanked his friends and fans for their prayers during his recovery.
That experience will be chronicled in Wednesday evening’s episode of the hit A&E series, sources confirm.
The youngest of family patriarch Phil Robertson’s sons received significant prayer during his hospitalization, which his loved ones credit for his quick convalescence.
This episode, the tenth of the series’ seventh season, airs Wednesday night on A&E at 9:30 p.m./8:30 central.
Since Duck Dynasty’s 2012 debut, the Robertson family has transcended the program to become cultural icons.
Phil, a preacher as well as successful entrepreneur, has repeatedly made news by expressing his strong biblical beliefs from behind the pulpit. Willie Robertson became involved in politics – especially as his cousin sought elected office in Louisiana’s 5th congressional district – as his daughter earned praise for her stint on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
In the end, no matter their other exploits, family remains a central focus for the reality stars. When faced with a loved one’s serious illness, this week’s episode of Duck Dynasty promises to highlight the importance of togetherness and an overarching faith in God.
